Day 20: Go to Pieces
When considering what to wear for today's challenge, I dug through every single one of my go to pieces trying to decide which one would take the spotlight. However, I couldn't decided. I wear all of my go to pieces thought out the week. They are my wardrobe essentials. I use them for dressing up and for layering. It wouldn't be fair to feature only one, when each are vital players in my daily attire. So, I decided to feature them all.
My wardrobe essentials:
1. The cardigan. I love how cardigans can make the simplest and informal of outfits a bit more dressier. They are such multi-functional pieces. They can be dressed up or dressed down, they function like a sweater and like a jacket.
2. The layering tee. I love my layering tees. These tees give much needed lining to shirts, and much needed coverage to blouses that may be a bit too low cut for my tastes. Like cardigans, these are also multi-functional. I use them for layering and I use them for palling around the house.
3. The lace layering cami. This little bit of wonder is a staple of my wardrobe and one I cannot go without. The vibrant colors and the delicate lace detailing at the bottom of each camisole makes my outfits pop and adds cute feminine detail.
4. The denim skirt. If I could, I would live in denim every single day. Unfortunately work doesn't allow that until Friday. So, On Fridays, I like to break out my dark wash denim skirts. Professionally speaking, light wash denim skirts make the wearer look far too casual, whereas dark wash denim can be substituted in for navy and sometimes even black. Dark washes of denim make the wearer look a bit more put together while retaining a casual feel to the outfit.
Today's outfit is on a tropic theme, with bright greens, corals, teals, and a pair of flip flop earrings.
