Favorite Winter Reads



The turkey has been carved, the dishes washed, and the Christmas tree set up. Christmas and Winter are just around the corner. What better way to spend these dark cold days than hibernating with a good book, and a hot cup of coffee of course. I’ve curated a list of some of my favorite winter reads help get you inspired and ready to snuggle up and read.

1.The Unfinished Gift by Dan Walsh. Set in World War II, a young boy finds himself in the care of his grouchy, bitter grandfather after his mother is killed in car accident and his father is overseas with the army. This is a tale of love, mercy, and forgiveness for all ages.





2.Poirot’s Christmas, by Agatha Christie. A wealthy family gathers together for the holiday season with their cantankerous father. When a scream and crash is heard from behind a locked door, the family discovers their father murdered. Poirot is called into sniff out the killer before another family member meets an untimely end.





3.A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens. No description is necessary for this timeless tale of forgiveness, salvation, and charity.




4.Candy Cane Murder, by Joanne Fluke. Hannah Swenson is on the trail of a killer after she discovers the body of Department Store Manager, and Lake Eden’s Department Store Santa Claus at the end of a trail of candy canes. Now Hannah has to sift through a list of suspects longer than her own holiday shopping list.





5.Christmas Cake Murder, by Joannne Fluke. After the loss of her father, Hannah and her mother’s friends enlist Hannah’s mother, Deloras Swenson, to put on a Christmas Ball for the benefit and aid of Lake Eden’s Library, Essie. As Hannah researches the Christmas Ball of Essie’s youth, she discovers the manuscript of a crime novel Essie had been writing. However, Hannah finds herself wrapped up in another mystery when she discovers the story Essie had been writing is true.
