2018 Winter Trends

The fashion trends this season are all fabric based. While there are particular cuts, patterns, or clothing articles that are considered winter must haves. What is far more popular are fabrics; velvet, corduroy, suede, and leather. These fabrics are everywhere from the real deal leather pants to vegan leather skirts, and corduroy skinnies. There are so many options that you can’t go wrong.
These fabric trends aren’t limited to our clothing, but they are all over our accessory choices. Now many of us probably have a pair of suede or leather boots or booties in our closet, along with a leather jacket or purse.
Uncertain about adding velvet to your wardrobe? Don’t be. A great way to be party ready this holiday season is with a velvet skirt. A velvet skirt screams luxury. However, a pair of velvet flats or a velvet clutch is just as luxurious.

Corduroy is a bit different. While it will look off to be toting around corduroy handbag or romping around in corduroy shoes, a corduroy jacket or skirt is the perfect addition to your wardrobe. For a corduroy jacket go for neutrals like a dark brown, gray, or navy blue. Most corduroy skirts come in a bevy of colors, the most popular being burgundy, deep teal, mustard, and olive green.

Leather and suede are more commonly found in our hand bags, footwear and jackets. While these are classic staples that every functional and chic wardrobe needs, break out of the box. Why not add a leather or suede skirt to your wardrobe. When the suede or leather skirt is done in a neutral color like cognac or black it transitions well from work to play to date. However, a colored skirt like burgundy or forest green is just as transitional, and twice as fun.
