5 Things You Should Know about Me

It feels like it has been ages since I last wrote a post for all of you. I am deeply sorry for not writing as often as I once had. I can give all of the excuses in the world, but that will not do. That does not mean that I have not been writing. I have been writing quite a bit lately. Not just for this blog, but I also writ guests posts for www.modestfashionnetwork.com. That too takes up quite a bit of time. As the seasons are changing and as I am gearing up for a few new posts for all of you, I decided to take some time out share few things you might like to know about me.

1. ESL. I am an adjunct professor of English as a Second Language. I teach 14 credit hours a week which gives me an average of 5 to 6 classes a semester. I love teaching and I love interacting with students from all over the world. I have been teaching English as a Second Language for over 4 years now and I am 2 1/2 years into my professorship. Before I became an adjunct professor, I taught elementary school English overseas in South Korea.

2. Party planning. I love to plan parties. I think this goes back to watching, and later on helping, my mother plan our Christmas open house. She goes all out with the theme, food, and decorations. It is great. I still love sitting down and helping her plan for Christmas open house. Now, I get to take what she has shown and taught me to my current job. Now, I get to plan culture parties for all of our international students. There are no words to express how truly thrilled I am to be doing this.

3. Winter. Fall is a great season in itself and I have nothing wrong with it. However, fall is not my favorite season. Sure I like the changing leaves, the cooler weather, pumpkins, and apple cider as much as the next girl; but the season that gets me the most is winter. I have so many great memories that are centered around the winter months. I love snow, I love the music, I love peppermint, and I enjoy Christmas. Furthermore, I love the scents that are associated with winter: allspice, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, orange, balsam, cedar, ginger, and mint.

(nothing says Christmas like a cat in garland).

4. What Not To Wear. I love watching old episodes of What Not To Wear from TLC. I have picked up a lot useful information about styling, color combinations, textures, body shape, size, shine, and patterns from Kelly and London. I love seeing the transformations made by the contributors. While I dislike some of the snark from the hosts, I do find the show educational and fun.

(this picture is not mine. I found it via a google search).

5. Colored Denim. If you kept up with my summer series on colored denim skirts, then this last fact should not be a surprise. I love colored denim. It is the best thing to happen to denim since, well I don't know what. Colored denim is a great way to look chic, on trend, and casual. My wardrobe is filled with colored denim, including a few new fall colors!

There you have it readers, 5 things you should know about me. I can't wait to share with you some of the posts I have been working on and some of the fall colored denim skirts I have been styling.

  1. Where do you get your denim skirts? Or if you sew them, do you use a pattern? Thanks!

    1. Rachel, I get my denim skirts from one of three places: the skirt outlet, Jade Mackenzie Apparel (especially my colored denim skirts), and Jupe De Abby.
